The ACS website is a great place to spend a couple hours navigating around. They offer support groups and information, financial resources, lots and LOT of information pertaining to different types of cancer and ways to manage life with cancer. The Live and Give foundation is a local non-profit organization encouraging women to “Don’t Be A Chump! Check For A Lump!” Their mission is to motivate women to perform breast self-exams and have mammograms performed to increase the chances of detecting breast cancer in its early ages. They also offer direct assistance to breast cancer patients through their “Wig Out” program which provides free custom wigs to breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in Arizona.

This is an online resource where you can schedule meals needed and friends/family can volunteer to bring you meals. You set up a “portal” (it’s really easy!) and pick the days/times you would like to have meals. Then you email your calendar to family and friends, or even post on Facebook, and with just a couple quick clicks, people can choose the day they want to bring a meal and it’ll take that day off your calendar so you don’t get double-meals on any given day!

There is often a short waiting list but they do what they can to support you while on the waiting list.
