I have lived in Arizona for 38 years. My parents brought me to Arizona when I was 14 years old. Since then I have loved and hated the heat, but wouldn’t think about moving anywhere else. I finished Junior High and High School in Mesa and Tempe, then some college, but needed to get right into the workforce. I worked for large and small companies, was self-employed for a number of years, then decided to find a job with the State of Arizona. I have been with them for 13 years now.
My cancer story started in 2016 when I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer. We were shocked and angry but were in good hands at MD Anderson. I completed all of the necessary treatments and was stable for three years. June of 2020, my cancer has come back in the form of a cancer rash. I was afforded the opportunity to join a Triple Negative Metastatic Advanced Cancer Clinical Trial. So begins my new chapter of treatment.
My husband of ten years has been my rock, so have my three boys. My family is a strong one, and they will not let me give up. My friends remind me every day how much they are praying for me and how supportive they are as well.
