After a lengthy corporate career, my husband and I landed in Arizona and in 2019 heard those fateful words, “you have breast cancer”. While waiting for another biopsy, I was flipping through a magazine and found an article about My Hope Bag.
Like so many women, I was lost, scared and my head was spinning out of control. I met with the late Hope Sister, Robyn Zepeda and my life changed. I truly felt that the upside to my cancer was to know that My Hope Bag existed and I had to be a part of it to give back to other women who needed the support I was getting from Robyn and the team. Within a few months, I was an eager volunteer and have been with Sarah and the team ever since. I am now a 5+ year breast cancer survivor and it makes my heart happy to provide love, hugs and encouragement to those who are recently diagnosed.
